Opportunities for women-owned businesses with the Small Business Innovation Research & Small Business Technology Transfer Programs

This  90-minute webinar covers how women-owned businesses can take advantage of this unique and wildly successful program.

This workshop covers:

  • The basics of the SBIR/STTR program
  • Program prospects across every industry
  • How women-owned businesses can take advantage of these opportunities

Also featured: a panel of women business owners who have successfully navigated the program, receiving grants and contracts.

Program Background:

The SBIR/STTR programs are a key source of financing for early-stage research and development (R&D) that translates discoveries into impactful products, services, and companies.  This 40+ year-old program invests $3.5 billion each year in small businesses, making it the largest single source of non-dilutive, early-stage, high-risk funding.

In 2018, women-owned businesses made up only 20% of all firms that employed people in the United States.  To make matters worse, only 13% of SBIR awards in the same year went to women-owned companies.
